If anyone is interested, I think our Aquaculture Island needs some additional mariculture cages.  Many of the videos I'm watching on aquaculture---use floating cages.  I'm not sure how large or deep they are?  Sometimes the cages are off of a pier.…Continue

Anyone interested in giving an Aquaculture related presentation at a UH SL Winter Social event we are planning for next Friday, the 10th? Let me know, or let Arcanejill Magic know in world. Any help would be greatly appreciated and very welcomed!

Not sure if I should have made my last comment a discussion or not. If anyone feels I should have, please let me know and I will repost it as one, or if someone wants to C&P it to a discussion, that would be even better.

If anyone is interested...I am almost done with my SecondLife Greenhouse build. I have the RL equivalent of 3 acres on which I am going to replicate my RL Greenhouse business. Mind you...I do not have this built in RL. I use SL to "Build" my projects that I will create in RL. Like a 3D CAD program. More fun this way too! Anyway...With many obvious exceptions (mainly due to Prim limits in SL) I have created what I believe could equate to more than 15,000 plants being produced in a 30 meter square area, which is roughly 100'x100' which could probably be increased with some minor alterations. Now imagine that I add a "second level" to this dome and use artificial lighting, I could double that in the same footprint. Now imagine that I have four of these buildings on my land, which would easily fit on 3 acres. That's 120,000 plants possible. And with the fish that are being raised in tanks around the complex, would add to that. In case you haven't guessed by now, I am trying to create, in RL, on 5 acres of land, a system that would produce 1,000,000 pounds of food a year.

As I said earlier, I am almost finished building this in SL (SLURL to follow) I will eventually be adding notecards with information, as well as visual aids to ponder. If you get a chance to go and look, please do! I would love to hear your input and thoughts regarding this project I am doing.

Thank you in advance! Here is the SLURL to my build.

Thank you Sam! I will get that changed! I will work on some other videos as well.

Looks great. The island with the buildings is actually the general UH campus, and the island to the West of it is the College of Education. The UH island does currenlty have the COE building which keeps on saying "welcome to COE campus", so your presentation makes sense on that level.

We could certainly use promotional videos like this towards the end of the summer, particularly if they could show avatars doing activities and so on.

This is just a teaser for a fun project that I am working on! It's a hyperlink based Presentation for Keynote. It is an interactive map of the UH Sims in SL. Let me know what you think! More to follow later!
