Event Description

Deadline for Student Abstracts Approaching

I know that the 2018 Aquaculture America meeting seems ages away but in order to process and judge all of the student abstracts they need to be submitted by September 8th  2017.  Professors please encourage your students to participate as this is probably the biggest benefit to our student members.  Over $10,000 is available through the various awards.

In order to be eligible for student awards (best abstract, spotlight, best presentation, best poster, etc.) the abstracts must be submitted by the deadline AND the student must be a USAS member in good standing at the time of the submission.  In past years we have had many students submit abstract by the deadline that were not members yet.  So please visit the link below and make sure you join WAS AND make sure you select the US chapter as your free chapter membership included with your WAS membership.  Is $5 worth potentially winning $1500?  I think so.  In addition, your membership in USAS entitles you to a 50% discount on pre-meeting workshops.

And take a look at the other student awards that you can apply for one the USAS website.

If you have any questions about the awards or the abstract judging process please contact USAS Vice President, Angela Caporelli  or USAS President David Cline

Cheers (and good luck),

David
